Coventry: activities
Over
the years, the departments for foreign affairs of the respective city councils
in Coventry and Kiel were able to help develop the most diverse range of projects
and encounters on a private or on an institutional level, to establish contacts
and work and training placements, to organise mutual participation in exhibitions,
festival events and conferences, and to support study visits.
Many institutions maintain firm links with the English twin city - such as,
for example, the Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft, the Community of the Cross
of Nails, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe
e.V., the adult education centre Volkshochschule or the university.
Official delegations from Coventry visit the twin city of Kiel for the Kieler
Woche and the closely-connected annual International City Forum. Guests from
the Kiel City Hall are welcomed in Coventry, as are visitors from the fields
of schools and sport, from churches, business, and the academic and cultural
communities.
