Kiel - Gdynia:
activities
As
a typical example of the mutual hospitality between the two cities, mention
should be made here of the participation of young people from Kiel in the "Twin
City Youth Sport Competitions" in Gdynia, or the programme of exchange visits
in which people from both cities visit each other in their own homes.
The departments of foreign affairs of the respective city councils in each twin
city take care of events like these, and also support official delegations,
for instance from Gdynia to Kiel to visit the International City Forum and the
Kieler Woche.
It is above all through the German-Polish Society, schools and universities,
associations and organisations, the Chambers of Industry and Commerce and other
institutions that a broad range of contacts has been established and encounters
have been organised.
A Kiel Park has been developed in the Polish twin city. Collaborating together
on this project have been the municipal authorities responsible for the city
parks and gardens in Gdynia and Kiel.
Countless festivals, markets, concerts, exhibitions and conferences provide
the opportunity for the exchange of specialist expertise and experience. But
this is not all - they also serve as the foundation for many personal friendships
in Kiel and Gdynia.
