An important driving force for the Land Capital’s international contacts are
the higher education institutions. Academic research can now only be carried
out effectively within the context of an international network. This is one
of the main reasons why the higher education institutions in Kiel maintain a
whole series of research partnerships and organise international congresses.
They establish contacts for students with higher education institutions in other
countries and look after the needs of foreign students in Kiel. The central
contact points for this service are usually the Foreign Student’s Offices.
