Jahr für Jahr untermauert die schleswig-holsteinische Landeshauptstadt ihre Spitzenposition mit herausragenden internationalen Segelsport-Events. Nicht nur als Ausrichter von zwei Olympischen Segelwettbewerben (1936, 1972) hat sich "KIEL.SAILING MEKKA" (ISAF-Präsident Göran Peterson) weltweit als Qualitätsmarke etabliert.

Kieler Woche, the largest sailing event in the world, regularly attracts around 5,000 active sailors from 50 nations with more than 2,000 yachts, yawls and surfboards to the sailing review off Kiel-Schilksee.

With a dedicated sailing camp just for children, KIEL.SAILING CITY has secured its reputation as the most enthusiastic and child-friendly sailing city in the North. Kiel is also home to the THW, Germany’s most successful handball team.
